By the time I reached the airport at 10.00 Pm the boarding for the flight NW-41 had already started.Rushed through the immigration and boarded the flight in another hour.
My Flight took off at 00.50 hrs from Mumbai.
After flying for nine hours reached Amsterdam at 10.00 AM IST.
The local time at Amsterdam was 06.00 AM.
Took off from Amsterdam after three hours.
Reached Newark at 09.00 PM IST. The local time was 12.00 PM.
The climate here is superb. Though people over here call it the summer I was freezing for the first few hours.
The temperature is 18 degrees (what a difference from Mumbai's summer @ 33 degrees).
After hanging around the neighborhood for a few hours and doing the customary shopping, slept at 3 in the afternoon.
when I woke up at 8 it was still sunny.
I was initially wondering whether I got up at 8.00 AM the next day, but soon figured out that I had slept only for a few hours.
The sun sets at 9.00 PM and rises again at 5 in the morning.
So in all my day lasted for a good 33 hours. By far the longest day I have ever had.And yes, my ill luck with the trains (its actually a subway for local travel) has followed me to New Jersey.
Left home for work at 9.00 AM and caught a bus for the station ( damages 1.25$)
The train journey is approx 15 min and the fare is 1.25$ again .
when I reached the station the area was cordoned off and the trains were NOT RUNNING.
I was like ; what the F*** not again.
waited for a good hour at the subway, then tried to catch a bus for my office but couldn't find the right
one (did I mention the locals are very unhelpful! you ask them the route and everyone says that they don't know).
Then finally did what I have been doing all my life, SPEND! took a cab to office (damages 10$)
Reached office at 12.00 ( somehow I did not miss Mumbai today) .
So in all for the journey that should take 20 min and 2.5$, I spent 3 hours and 11.25$ (NO!! do not calculate in Rupees, I might take offence)

After all its 4 AM according to my biological clock.
